VITEEE (VIT Engineering Entrance Exam)
VITEEE or Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam is a national level entrance exam conducted by VIT University for admission to undergraduate engineering courses in VIT Group of Institutions:
- VIT Vellore
- VIT Chennai
- VIT AP
- VIT Bhopal
VITEEE 2026 will be conducted between 28th April 2026 and 03rd May 2026 (tentatively) at designated test centres across the country and abroad.
After appearing VITEEE, you will be invited to attend online counselling conducted by the university itself in 5 phases, in the 1st phase students ranked from 1 to 20000 will be allowed to participate in the counselling, then 20001 to 45000 in the 2nd phase and so on.
If you are targeting Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) or CSE with some specialization that too in category 1 or category 2 your VITEEE Rank shouldn’t be more than 8000.
VIT Vellore Direct Admission with higher fee
VIT University does offer Direct Admission for Engineering and other courses offered at its Institutions, and it’s absolutely 100% correct. Let me tell you How!

VIT Vellore: Admission Requirements
To get admission to VIT University for engineering programs whether it’s through VITEEE or VIT Vellore Direct Admission through NRI category, candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria:
a. Nationality
Candidates should be Indian Resident or Non-Resident Indian (NRI) or OCI or PIO or Foreign Nationals
b. Age Limit
Candidates born on or after 1st July 2004 are eligible to apply for VITEEE 2026. The date of birth as recorded in the High School Certificate will be considered authentic.
c. Qualifying Examination
Candidates who have opted Mathematics should have passed 10+2 or 12th Std. or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry and should have 50% or more marks in Mathematics.
Candidates who have opted Biology should have passed 10+2 or 12th Std. or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and should have 50% or more marks in Biology.
Candidates belonging from the reserved categories (ST/SC) or hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and the North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura, should have passed 10+2 or 12th Std. or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology.
VIT Vellore: Fee Structure
Fee Structure at VIT Vellore depends on the group of specializations (A or B) that you are opting for and the category (1 to 5) under which you are going to get admission.
All engineering programs offered in VIT Group of Institutions are divided into two groups – Group A and Group B, these groups are made on the basis of the demand of engineering branches, though all engineering branches have its own advantages.
Engineering branches such as Biotechnology, Chemical, Electrical, Fashion Technology, etc. are in Group A whereas Computer Science and Specialization (Artificial Intelligence, IOT, Data Science, etc.), Electronics, Mechanical, etc. are in Group B in VIT University.

The fee structure is divided into five categories – Category 1, Category 2 …… Category 5, these categories are based on the VITEEE ranks.
Fee to be paid by the students who are selected under Category 1 for Group A branches is 1,76,000 annually whereas it is 1,98,000 annually for Group B branches at VIT University

VIT Vellore Direct Admission under NRI Quota
VIT University also offers Direct Admission to International students under NRI Quota seats. If you are not an international student all of your studies (10th Std. & 12th Std.) completed in India only but your parents (either of one) staying in abroad, in that case also you can apply for VIT Vellore Direct Admission through NRI seats.
If you are applying for VIT Vellore Direct Admission under NRI seats, you will be exempted from the entrance exam. This admission would be based on ‘first-come, first-served’, so don’t delay though application timeline is so long, decide early.
Fees for VIT Vellore Direct Admission under NRI Quota
International students or students with Indian nationality and their parents (either of one) working or staying abroad can apply for VIT Vellore Direct Admission under NRI Quota seats, and the fees payable for them will be total $9100 (9000 – Tuition Fee + 1000 – Caution Deposit)
