SPIT Mumbai Admission
Admission to SPIT Mumbai can be done through three different ways
1. MHT-CET Exam and CAP
2. JEE Main and CAP
3. Institutional Level

MHT-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test)
The MHT-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is a state-level entrance test conducted by the CET Cell under the administration of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of Maharashtra.
MHT-CET scores are considered for admission to various undergraduate programs such as engineering, pharmacy, nursing, management, fine arts, physiotherapy, etc. offered by Government or Private Institutions in Maharashtra.
Students from other than Maharashtra can appear MHT-CET to get admission to desired programs in Maharashtra, but the percentage of seats are limited to 15% of the total intake of the respective institutions.
After, the MHT-CET results candidates were invited to participate in the centralized counselling process called CAP (Centralized Admission Process) for respective programs conducted by the CET Cell only.
JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Main
The Joint Entrance Exam or JEE Main, formerly All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate technical programs such as Engineering, Architecture, and Planning across colleges and universities in India.
JEE Main is mainly conducted for admission in premier technical institutions like National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) for B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning courses.

Upload required academic and identity documents as per the checklist.

Choice Filling & Locking
Students choose preferred colleges and engineering branches and lock their choices before the deadline.
Seat Allotment Rounds
Based on merit (MHT-CET/JEE Main ranking), category, and preferences, seats are allotted in multiple rounds (Round 1, Round 2, etc.).
Reporting to Allotted Institute
Once a seat is allotted, students report to the institute with required documents and pay fees to confirm admission.
Institutional Quota or Institutional Level Seats
In Maharashtra, few percent of seats (around 15-20%) are reserved for direct admission, and these seats are directly controlled by the Institute itself. It often covers Management Quota and NRI Quota seats as well.
